Sujith was introduced to the flute at the young age of four, when his father bought him a 5-rupee flute. He began his training with Sri O K Subramaniam, a flautist and nagaswaram artiste in Kochi, Kerala.

Sujith then received the opportunity to learn from flute maestro Padma Shri Dr N Ramani. Over a decade later, Sujith moved to Chennai, Tamil Nadu, to continue his education at Kalakshetra Foundation, a renowned institution for the arts, under the guidance of Sri T Shashidhar.

 

Apart from the flute, Sujith has learnt the mridangam from Sri A Balakrishna Kamath and Sri Kalaimamani Thiruvarur Bakthavathsalam. He has also trained extensively in Carnatic vocal from Sri N P Ramaswamy and Cherthalai Ranganatha Sharma and is currently a student of Sri A S Murali.
